Summary of the Arting 2013 Project

This year's edition of the competition was held under the patronage of the Mayor of the City of Jacek Krywult and organized by the People-Innowacje-Design Foundation. The aim of the competition was to use the potential of industrial design in solving energy problems and to popularize the concept of energy as a common good in accordance with the concept of sustainable development. 28 projects entered the competition and their level was assessed as high. All of them could be seen at the exhibition opening, during which awards were also presented to the winning designers.

industrial design competition

The industrial design competition "Projekt Arting" has a nearly 20-year tradition in Bielsko-Biała. It was in our city in 1994 that the concept of cooperation between artists and engineers, environments related to industrial design and the local economy was created. This project was initiated by the local government, and also involved companies, banks and the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. After years, this model of cooperation began to be called a "cluster". The aim of this cooperation was to create product designs that could be implemented by manufacturers from Bielsko-Biała and the surrounding area.
