Cavatina Stop

The topic that attracted our attention the most is the Cavatina Hall multimedia bus stop at Stefanii Sempołowska Street in Bielsko-Biała. We chose it because of our common interest in architecture. The Cavatina Hall building itself is very interesting.

It is a mixed-use facility that offers office and service space as well as a concert hall that meets the highest acoustic standards. The concept of the building and the way it is finished are particularly noteworthy and attractive due to its innovation and modern approach to construction.

The aim of the stop project is to fill the Cavatina Hall building complex, revitalize the city and enrich the infrastructure of Bielsko-Biała. Moreover, it is important to create an integral space in the context of the Cavatina Hall building and its character. The user of the stop is both a person using the complex's services and public transport. The facility is intended to provide a modern way of use.
We began our reflections by looking for the form of the facility itself. The initial analysis included familiarizing ourselves with the history and basic assumptions of the creators of the complex. It was important to capture the organic character, referring to the characteristic "shell", which is a kind of symbol. The element that attracts the eye the most. The dominant materials we decided to use were wood and glass.

Finally, the stop was visually divided into two parts by a touch screen equipped with speakers from which music would come out. The larger part has wide benches whose width and irregularity refer to the interior of the concert hall. The bottom of the benches is equipped with strips with energy-saving LED lighting. The round, curved facade is intended to ensure good sound propagation. Sound waves bounce off the walls that border this space. In addition to acoustic possibilities, the double-sided multimedia screen provides convenient and quick access to information about the timetable, upcoming cultural events, the repertoire of events and concerts organized in Cavatina Hall.
