The conference is a chance to bring together representatives of various academic disciplines and practitioners, and to explore their understanding of the happy city. Can cities be happy if the communities that comprise them are not? Can we design happiness? How can we implement the principles of a happy city? Or should the idea be dismissed as utopian from the outset? These topics will be addressed by invited guests, first in individual lectures and then expanded upon in a moderated discussion.
