Meeting "Let's design the street together. "November 11"

Thursday, July 7, 2022, as the People-Innowacje-Design Foundation, we organized the meeting "Let's design the street on November 11 together". We invited entrepreneurs, residents, estate councils and representatives of the Department of Culture and Promotion of the City Hall, as well as representatives of the Youth City Council, activists and artists from the city. Thank you very much for your presence.

The meeting was organized as part of the 11/11 project experiment. to discuss the needs of residents and noticed problems
and proposed solutions.

The meeting began with a tour of the street by a guide. He told us about many extremely interesting and somewhat forgotten places on the promenade. It stimulated the imagination and creativity of the participants. Unfortunately, a heavy downpour cut the walk short.

After the walk, we went to the Flat White Cafe , where we discussed the situation of the street over a cup of warm coffee. There were voices about many problems, but also interesting ideas on what could improve the situation on the street.

The multitude of reported problems certainly does not discourage us, but motivates us to continue taking action and assures us of the need for the 11.11 project.

Workshops for children "Let's invent a street of dreams".

On June 4, 2022, art workshops for children "Let's invent a street of dreams" were held, organized by FLID, the Department of Culture and Promotion of the Bielsko-Biała City Hall. Artistic assistance was provided by animators from the Art School Complex , and at the same time, sociologists from CityLaBB conducted surveys for adults.

We started designing 11 Listopada Street together with workshops with children and teenagers because of their unbridled imagination, open minds and lack of awareness of obstacles, which makes their ideas more inspiring than anything adults can come up with.

We have prepared several work spaces for children: on large sheets of paper, on large canvases on easels, for the youngest we have prepared worksheets and coloring pages with the facades of buildings from 11 Listopada Street. The most popular was a 4-meter-long banner with a street map spread on the sidewalk.

Children and their guardians drew and wrote down their ideas about what could be found on 11 Listopada Street,
what would make them happy, what they lack, what they would benefit from.

The ideas included very real ones, such as more ice cream parlors, balloon shops and concerts, but also crazier ones, such as a zoo at Wolności Square or submarine rides in the river. Below is a full list of ideas divided into several categories, and below it a gallery of photos by Leszek Buzderewicz and works made during the workshops.
