Competition Projects

The projects submitted to the competition fulfilled the aim of the competition, which was to use the potential of industrial design to solve energy problems by creating innovative design projects and disseminating the concept of energy as a common good and the principles of energy management in accordance with the concept of sustainable development.

The jury assessed the works based on the evaluation criteria included in the competition regulations:
a) innovation, originality,
b) optimal combination of functionality, ergonomic, aesthetic and ecological values,
c) optimization of energy and material consumption in the production and use phase of the product and the possibility of its recycling after use.

The jury consisted of: Joanna Jaskuła ( Energie Cities ), Jerzy Ginalski ( IWP Warszawa ), Krzysztof Gieleciak ( UM Bielsko-Biała ), Jacek Graś ( FLID ), Marian Kopecki ( HSK Data ), Janusz Seweryn ( ASP Kraków ).

It was decided to award three prizes:
1st prize in the amount of PLN 5,000, funded by the Mayor of Bielsko-Biała, Jacek Krywult, for the team of Małgorzata Blachnicka, Michał Holcer for the HUBA project, 2nd prize in the amount of PLN 3,000, funded by Euroregion Beskidy for Maciej Czyżewski for the design of a small wind farm , and 3rd prize in the amount of PLN 2,000, funded by CALDORIS Polska for Magdalena Drożdżowska for the PIXEL playground project .

The best project was also chosen by Internet users voting on the D-SPOT portal, which also sponsored the prize of PLN 500. The winner was Olga Maciaszczyk with the project FREELIGHT - a bicycle light charged while braking. The portal's editorial team also decided to award three honorary distinctions to the team of designers from Gdańsk for the design of the STA.H-1 ship, to the team of Katarzyna Matlak and Bartłomiej Balicki for the BOJA design and to Iga Pochopień for the design of the water consumption indicator .

All projects were presented in the form of boards at the post-competition exhibition in Design Bank and published in the catalog and on the D-SPOT website. The greatest value is the potential of creative thinking visible in all projects without exception.
