In a happy city, happiness has no age
This year, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Poland's membership in the European Union. These celebrations prompt analysis and reflection on the changes that have occurred over the past two decades. What is certainly noticeable is the new infrastructure, which has become more accessible to all city residents. What is less visible are the changes that have occurred in the way I perceive the city as friendly and happy. […]
Urban development should be measured not only by the scale of infrastructure investment and the introduction of new technologies, but above all by the extent to which residents have an influence on shaping urban policy. Vienna, which has been a leader in the field of happy cities for years, is an example of a place created by its residents of all ages. Polish cities should also listen to the needs of their residents and remember that their happiness should not depend on their origin, gender, sexual orientation, ability level, or age.
