Conference "heritage design" at the castle of the Sułkowski princes in Bielsko-Biała
The "design heritage" conference is a summary of expert research on the history of design in the Polish-Slovak border area of the Beskydy Euroregion. It was planned for June 25, 2020 in the castle of the Sułkowski princes, which is the seat of the Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała. Thanks to the kindness of the management of this institution, in the historic courtyard with a glass roof, an exhibition of banners illustrating selected historical issues and an exhibition of projects awarded in the Arting Project 2020 "Heritage" competition were prepared. Due to epidemiological restrictions, the formula of conferences and exhibitions was changed, strengthening the online message. The invited experts are: designers and academics - Anna Szwaja, Joanna Krokosz, Katarzyna Pełka-Bura, Bogdan Kosak, archaeologist - Bogusław Chorąży, historian - Piotr Kenig, designer and local government activist - Zbigniew Michniowski, promoter of cultural heritage - Leszek Richter. They recorded the results of their research in articles published in the project magazine and presented them in the form of a lecture recorded on film. All material is available on the Arting Project website. Expert research has uncovered many interesting and important threads that are important for cultural heritage. At the same time, they indicated areas requiring further attention and exploration. Popularizing the results of this research is important because it strengthens identity and cultural bonds and is a source for new projects and ideas.
